Schwarz House

The Schwarz House is located just outside of the town centre on the north slope of the Hittisberg - or Hittis Mountain

You have chosen Konrad and Lydia Schwarz‘s house.  It is located just outside of the town centre on the north slope of the Hittisberg - or Hittis Mountain.  As mayor of Hittisau, Konrad Schwarz had the Culture Centre and the Women‘s Museum built from Silver Fir timber.  In the end, he liked the wood so much that he decided to use it to build his own house as well.

  • You can learn more about the house if you dial 1.
  • Dial 2 to hear a talk with Konrad Schwarz.
  • Dial 3 to hear a dialogue with Markus Faisst, the craftsman that designed the house.

Please note that tours inside the house are only available by appointment.  The house may be looked at from the outside at any time.  It is a worthwhile destination, because from the village centre, you can reach a beautiful lookout point in about 20 minutes.
